Based on the principle of "Prayerful Management", we declare that we will strive to maintain and better the health of our employees and their families, actualize lifestyles that are fulfilling, healthy, and emotionally rich, work towards the healthy development of our company, and continue sowing the seeds of joy in people and the society.
Towards that end, we have set the following five points as core action themes, and address these themes in cooperation with the Health Insurance Association and the labor union. Through the declaration stated below, we engage in "Health and productivity management®" that promotes good health through the PDCA cycle, and strive to heighten the health awareness (health literacy) of each individual employee.
At Duskin, we implement the "Duskin Declaration of Health-Focused Management" philosophy and maintain a "Health Promotion Council" with the goal of leading to healthiness for employees and improvement of company performance and value.
In the Council, members from the company, Health Insurance Association, and labor union deliberate over policy considerations and matters to report to the management, and issue reports both periodically and as appropriate. This actualizes a framework which allows the Board of Directors and the Personnel Affairs Council to assess and monitor the state of health and safety risk management.
For employee health maintenance, we set the target of health checkup rates, stress check rates, and registration rates at the health information website "kencom" and promote efforts to increase those rates.
Targets | FY2021 Results | FY2022 Results | FY2022 Results | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Periodic health checkup rate | 100% | 100% | 100% | 100% |
Stress check rate | 100% | 100% | 100% | 100% |
"kencom" registration rate | 50.0% | 47.6% | 48.5% | 48.4% |
Every year, based on the results of the periodic health checkup, we offer a "Lifestyle Disease Prevention Program" to employees and their family members who have a high risk for lifestyle-related diseases. The Program aims to reduce health risks by reevaluating lifestyle choices.
We have expanded the eligible age of our "Cardio-cerebrovascular Disease Prevention Program" and "Diabetic Nephropathy Prevention Program" to individuals under 40 years old. We also offer our "Online Smoking Cessation Program" to smokers.
Furthermore, we have introduced a "Health Management System" which allows unified health management through a cloud system by sharing checkup results from periodic health checkups between business management and the Health Insurance Association. Management and the Health Insurance Association have linked together (collaborative healthcare) to recommend a consultation at a medical facility to individuals targeted for high-risk potential based on the values measured for critical risk screening factors (blood pressure, glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism, kidney function, and liver function).
In addition to cancer screening areas effective for early discovery and early treatment (stomach, lung, large intestine, and gynecologic) offered in three-year increments from 40 to 73 years of age, we also provide milestone health checkups based on the fundamental inspection items of the Japan Society of Ningen Dock with even more detailed examinations added such as respiratory function inspections.
To facilitate early medical facility checkups for high cancer risk holders who have not received medical facility checkups, health nurses and medical nurses registered with the Health Insurance Association help with matters like introducing hospitals. For those who were unable to undergo cancer screening during regular health checkups, we provide financial assistance for gynecologic inspections, large intestine cancer screening, etc.
We have implemented training to increase self-care awareness and workplace improvement employing group analysis of stress checks.
We also implement consultations with industrial doctors and promote further support in order to strive for early discovery in employees with potential mental health issues.
To enable employees and their families to live healthy and bountiful lifestyles, we employ efforts to raise health awareness using ICT (Information Communication Technology).
To insured individuals and dependents 19 years old and over, the Duskin Health Insurance Association offers access to the ICT-powered health portal website "Kencom". Registering for "Kencom" allows users to easily check their own health data via smartphone and computer, making it possible to use the service for daily health management. Additionally, the service has an array of innovations making it fun to be healthy, with examples like broadcasts of health news helpful to each individual user and personalized to their unique health conditions.
Another "Kencom" feature is the "Minnade Arukatsu" walking event that encourages participants to have fun developing exercise habits together. Teams are formed for different business locations, etc., and the teams battle over step count. We participate twice a year.
Together with the 24-hour 365-day telephone service "Duskin Heart and Body Health Line", we are engaged in spreading awareness of health consultation services for emergencies and times of difficulty. In recognition of these efforts, the Duskin Health Insurance Association received an Award for Excellence in the Health Policy Bureau Director-General's Insurance Category at the first "Excellent Medical Approach Awards" held by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Duskin numerically analyzes employee health trends for different business locations and the results of various efforts, and drafts an annually-released health white paper that incorporates results based on target achievement progress and data health plans.
Period health checkups are essential for early discovery and early treatment. Our checkups include both statutory items based on the Industrial Safety and Health Act and non-statutory items as well. We offer workplace visit checkups and outside checkups at linked medical facilities.
We also promote checkups for family members of employees. For employee dependents, we provide medical consultation support including participation in workplace visit checkups and outside checkups at linked medical facilities.
