This is a business segment that focuses on the Clean Service business, which mainly rents cleaning and hygiene products such as mats, mops, cabinet towels and air purifiers. The group also operates the Care Service business, which offers various services such as ServiceMaster (professional cleaning services), Terminix (pest control and comprehensive hygiene management), Merry Maids (home cleaning and helper services), Total Green (plant and flower upkeep) and Home Repair (fixing scratches and dents). The group's products and services are offered to both residential and commercial customers.
To address growing needs in Japan's aging society, the group operates Health Rent (rental and sales of assisted-living products) and Life Care (support services for seniors).
Other businesses in the group are Health & Beauty (sales of natural cosmetics and health foods), Rent-All (comprehensive event support) and Uniform Service (leasing, sales and cleaning of uniforms).
The basic business model for all of these businesses is franchising. Duskin not only rents and sells products to franchisees but also provides know-how and expertise for business operation using the Duskin brand, and receives royalties as compensation.
The Clean Service business, the core of the Direct Selling Group, rents out dust control products including mats and mops and expands a resource recycling business in which users reuse these items multiple times, through its franchise network.
To provide these services on a nationwide scale, a large amount of investment is necessary. This includes the maintenance of factories and logistics networks and the purchasing of materials for rental products. Moreover, creating a nationwide sales network also requires time and money. Due to these factors, there are not many competitors with similar organizations and brand power. Additionally, our overwhelming market share and firm, broad, and in-person customer base are major strengths.
Mister Donut is the core of the Duskin Food Group. It operates under a franchise business model. The group sells raw materials for donuts to franchise shops, supplies know-how concerning shop operation and processing techniques and receives royalties as compensation. Its strengths are in maintaining the highest name recognition and share nationwide as a donut chain and in exercising strong product planning ability. Additionally, a wide age range of its fan base is also a major feature.
In our other food business, we have Katsu & Katsu (Japanese pork cutlet restaurants).
Other business includes domestic business that does not involve franchise operation and overseas operation of the Clean Service and Care Service businesses and Mister Donut business as well as license management and raw material purchasing for overseas operation.
