Based on the principle of Prayerful Management, we declare that we will strive to maintain and better the health of our employees and their families, actualize lifestyles that are fulfilling, healthy, and emotionally rich, work towards the healthy development of our company, and continue sowing the seeds of joy in people and the society.
Towards that end, we have set the following five points as core action themes, and address these themes in cooperation with the Duskin Health Insurance Society and the Duskin Workers' Union (employee representatives). Through the declaration stated below, we engage in "Health and productivity management®" that promotes good health through the PDCA cycle, and strive to heighten the health awareness (health literacy) of each individual employee.
At Duskin, we implement the "Duskin Declaration of Health-Focused Management" philosophy and maintain the Health Promotion Council to improve the health of employees and enhance company performance and value.
In the Council, members from the company, Duskin Health Insurance Society and Duskin Workers' Union deliberate over policy considerations and matters and report to management both periodically and as appropriate. This actualizes a framework which allows the Board of Directors and the Personnel Affairs Council to assess and monitor the state of health and safety risk management.
To help employees maintain good health, we have set targets for the health checkup rate, the stress check rate and the registration rate for Kencom, a health information website, and promote initiatives to increase these rates.
Targets | FY2021 Results | FY2022 Results | FY2023 Results | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Periodic health checkup rate | 100% | 100% | 100% | 100% |
Stress check rate | 100% | 100% | 100% | 100% |

Every year, based on the results of the periodic health checkups, we offer the Lifestyle Disease Prevention Program to employees and their family members (dependents) who have a high risk of lifestyle-related diseases. The Program aims to reduce health risks by reevaluating lifestyle choices.
We have expanded the eligible age for our Cardio-cerebrovascular Disease Prevention Program and Diabetic Nephropathy Prevention Program to individuals under 40 years old. We also offer the Online Smoking Cessation Program to smokers.
Furthermore, we have introduced a Health Management System, which provides unified health data management through a cloud system by sharing the results of periodic health checkups between the Company and the Duskin Health Insurance Society. In collaboration with the Company (collaborative healthcare), the Duskin Health Insurance Society recommends that individuals with a high risk of diseases consult a doctor based on their test values related to risk factors for diseases (blood pressure, glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism, kidney function, and liver function).
We provide cancer screenings effective for early detection and early treatment of stomach, lung, colorectal, and gynecological cancers every three years for individuals aged 40 to 73. In addition, we provide milestone health checkups (renamed Ningen Dock Health Checkup in 2023), similar to the basic inspection items of the Japan Society of Ningen Dock with more detailed examinations such as a respiratory function test.
To make it easier for those with a high risk of cancer but have not yet visited a medical facility to promptly consult with a doctor, the Duskin Health Insurance Society's health nurses and medical nurses provide assistance and introduce hospitals. For those who did not undergo cancer screenings during regular health checkups, we provide financial assistance for gynecological examinations, colorectal cancer screenings and the like.
We hold training sessions to raise awareness of self-care and improve the workplace environment based on the group analysis of employees' stress check results.
Moreover, we provide consultations by industrial doctors and promote further support to enable employees identified as having potential mental health issues to get help as early as possible.
To help employees and their families lead healthy and happy lives, we have taken the initiative to apply information communication technology (ICT) to raise health awareness.
Registering for Kencom, a health information portal, makes it easy for users to check their own health data via smartphone or computer, so they can use the service for daily health management. Moreover, Kencom includes various unique features that encourage users to stay fit while having fun. For example, useful health news is delivered to each user according to their health data.
Kencom also promotes a program called Let's Walk Together. This is a walking event that encourages participants to have fun developing exercise habits together. Teams formed within different business locations compete over step counts. The event takes place twice a year.
Together with our 24-hour 365-day telephone service, Duskin Mind and Body Health Line, we spread awareness of health consultation services in times of emergency and difficulty. In recognition of these efforts, the Duskin Health Insurance Society received an Award for Excellence in the Insurance category of the Health Policy Bureau Director-General's Award at the inaugural "Excellent Medical Approach Awards" hosted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Duskin publishes an annual Health White Paper, in which it numerically analyzes employees' health data and trends for different business locations as well as the results of various health initiatives the Company has taken. The Health White Paper includes the progress of target value achievements and the outcomes of Data Health Plans that are initiated by the government as part of the Japan Revitalization Strategy to improve public health.
Periodic health checkups are essential for early detection and early treatment of diseases. Our periodic checkups include both statutory items based on the Industrial Safety and Health Act and non-statutory items. We offer health checkups at each business location or at affiliated medical facilities.
We also promote health checkups for family members (dependents) under the Family Checkup program at either business locations or affiliated medical facilities.

Based on the analysis, we create an annual Health White Paper, which incorporates the progress of target value achievements and the outcomes of Data Health Plans. Then in accordance with the results in the Health White Paper, we report and share important issues that need special attention.
