Duskin entered into a comprehensive partnership agreement with Osaka Prefecture in July 2021. This agreement was signed with the goal of further deepening the relationship of cooperative and collaborative actions between Duskin and Osaka Prefecture amidst the advancement of efforts aiming for progress, such as the actualization of unique and attractive communities through local development. Moving forward, we will work together towards energizing the community and improving service for Osaka Prefecture residents while promoting cooperation and collaboration across the seven areas of health, children and welfare, community revitalization, diversity and employment promotion, safety and peace-of-mind, the environment, and prefectural government PR.
At nationwide branches, our Rent-All Business (comprehensive event support and rental service for various kinds of products) offers facility sanitation services necessary for opening local government facilities during disasters and the "Disaster Prevention Support Service" that provides support drawing on a network of 102 nationwide branches with approximately 100 kinds of rental products. We also contribute to the safety and peace of mind of communities by supporting the operation of disaster prevention training sites, sanitation measures, and equipment rental in preparation for disaster incidents.
The "Disaster Prevention Support Service" makes it possible to support the smooth opening of evacuation sites during disasters by preemptively entering into local government "Disaster Agreements" that include the supply of needed equipment.
In the super-aging society of Japan, there is a need for the elderly to live independently and with dignity in the familiar environment of their own homes. As a member of the community, Duskin supports the safe, secure, and comfortable lifestyles of senior citizens and their families.
In the Duskin Life Care business, we provide housekeeping (cleaning, laundry, shopping, etc.), physical care (walking, meals, toilet care, etc.), outing escorts, and day and night monitoring services to give support for living in the familiar home environment in place of family members 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
For dementia in particular, we provide service by care staff who have received dementia care training. In addition to supporting elderly lifestyles with services outside of long-term care insurance that are not covered by public services, this also reduces the care burden of family members.
To provide even higher quality service, we have installed the independent "DLCC (Duskin Life Care Communication) Level System". We test care staff on the knowledge and skills learned through training and award level certification.
It can become difficult to continue doing things you are accustomed to doing as you age. To relieve this anxiety experienced by the elderly, we provide total lifestyle support through care and assistive product rental.
What kinds of items should I select? Can I rent them right away? Are there any problems with quality? Our Health Rent business addresses each of these concerns with heartfelt kindness. We value the ability for senior citizens to lead more comfortable lives with peace of mind. In order to provide the appropriate assistive products to senior citizens with different physical conditions and lifestyle environments, we work together with our staff to constantly check the most recent product knowledge and care information. We contribute to more comfortable living by supplying support aimed to provide independence to the user and assistive products that consider ease-of-use for the caregiver.
In 2015, Duskin opened in Wako City, Saitama Prefecture, Wako Iki-iki Service Plaza*, a service center that provides daily living support and consultation services for the elderly. The facility was opened under Wako City's community-based integrated care system, and through its services Duskin has worked to play a constructive role in building an elderly-friendly community environment.
In 2023, Duskin was commissioned by Wako City to establish and operate a frailty prevention center. Based on this contract, in April 2023, Machikado Iki-iki Plaza (literally meaning "Community Plaza for Lively Living") was newly opened to carry on the services of Wako Iki-iki Service Plaza. This new service center promotes efforts to prevent frailty syndrome and also provides other healthy living support services to the elderly residents of Wako City. In addition to services related to frailty prevention as in the past, the Plaza also provides services that help the elderly take on socially useful roles and participate in their local communities while they are still able to do so. It is also working to improve the support framework for assisting the elderly with the various aspects of daily living.
Leveraging expertise cultivated over many years through providing services to the elderly, Machikado Iki-iki Plaza collaborates with various local businesses and organizations. Among the services the Plaza provides are general frailty prevention programs, a public space for people with dementia to interact with others, coordination of support for helping the elderly find employment and volunteer opportunities, coordination of support staff who assist the elderly with various daily living issues and coordination of staff teams that provide support for dementia patients and their families. Through our services at the Plaza, we are committed to supporting comfortable and healthy living for the elderly and to being of service to everyone in Wako City.
The Duskin Merry Maids business is a specialist housekeeping service. Our experienced staff members visit homes regularly and take care of cleaning and housekeeping in line with customer requests and situations. We also provide a service that regularly delivers daily necessities. Service is also possible during hours when the user is not at home. In fact, we help create relaxed lifestyles that match a wide array of customer living needs, including dual working households, single clients, clients busy balancing housekeeping with child raising, and even clients who want free time to start something new.
We will continue to develop and provide services based on customer needs as well as focus on expanding the number of franchisees to strengthen our service delivery system, aiming to grow our business while resolving issues in women's participation in society.
The Duskin "Communications fraud damage prevention mat" contributes to preventing communications frauds such as refund frauds that occur frequently nationwide. In cooperation with the various regional police headquarters, we are promoting awareness-raising activities by offering these mats to financial institutions as products that provide warnings from underfoot.
To date we have manufactured over ten thousand order-made mats, and they have been placed in front of ATMs at financial institutions and convenience stores in prefectures nationwide.
Our customers have given this project immense praise, including comments such as, "In the quest to reduce communications fraud damage to zero, having the prefecture police department name on the mats is a very impactful feature." In addition, Duskin's crime prevention CSR activities using these mats were recognized in October 2016 by the National Crime Prevention CSR Promotion Council under the category of a "Crime Prevention CSR Practicing Company".
